If you just had enough space for a 18"(hi)x 44"(wide)x 12"(deep) enclosure in the cab of a truck, what drivers (or combo) would yield the best performance?
- 12" / 15" Drivers (Use of one or two drivers max!)
- LMS-R / Axis
- Ported / Sealed
- Best bang-for-the-$$$
- VMP are welcomed!
Kyle designed a crazy setup for 'rastabobo' using (3) 12" LMS-R w/ (3)VMP's, but that combo is way to $$$ for my taste! Sweet Box!!
I want clean ultra low bass, with 'kick you in chest' impact, that sounds good. I have had 13w7's, but the surrounds dont last long in the Florida heat!
Any suggestions?!

If you want to get the most bass for the least coin, try and fit a 15" in there and port it. The axis 15 will give you a lot of output in a ported box and it will work well in about 3.5 - 4 cubic feet which should be about what you can get out of that box once you take away wall thickness and the port volume. I would try and tune around 30Hz

I have been reading that they are underrated, or measured like 'Pro-style' drivers. How much power can I put on it? Would it be able to handle a clean 2000w in this configuration?
If I wanted to use a VMP 15, would the recommended enclosure still be 3.5 - 4 cubes?

yes,in fact for optimal performance we recommend more than 1k rms. 2k should be Ok as long as your not putting a straight sinwave do it for hours on end.

How about the Passive Radiator? Is 3.5 cubes still optimal, or can I go smaller if I use one?
I like the tunability of the VMPs, and would love to try them out.
